Welcome to the academic research site for Prof. Brian Gorman. Brian is currently a Professor and Faculty Startup Fellow at the Colorado School of Mines in the George Ansell Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
Brian is also CTO of Minima Scientific, PBC and President of Net Negative, Ltd. Both of these companies are dedicated to Gton carbon capture and commercialization of net negative building materials, especially bricks and roof tiles. Check out this recent article published in the American Ceramic Society Bulletin.
Brian's work with Summit Brick Co. to bring net-negative bricks to market was honored by the Jefferson County (Colorado) Economic Development Corp. with the Sustainability Project of the Year for 2024! We also were awarded a special recognition from US Rep. Brittany Petterson (CO-07) for sustainability!
Here you can peruse some of the (seemingly) random research activities ongoing at the Colorado School of Mines and other collaborations.
